Roger McNamee, the long-haired, gadget belt-wearing founder of Elevation Partners investment group implied that the Palm Pre—in which he's investing in—will make iPhone owners switch over when their contracts expire in June.
Bloomberg writes:
"You know the beautiful thing: June 29, 2009, is the two- year anniversary of the first shipment of the iPhone," McNamee said today in an interview in San Francisco. "Not one of those people will still be using an iPhone a month later."
While this may or may not have some validity (the Pre is a beautiful phone), Boss McNamee omitted a couple of details about his potential iPhone killer here: a fair amount of initial iPhone buyers almost certainly upgraded to the iPhone 3G last summer (new two year contract!), and they won't all switch to the Pre.
